yeah, I reckon I need to consider investing in :spam: a chair which will make listening a comfortable experience.

I got a cheap little do-it-yourself kit from the Warehouse (exactly as its name - big warehouse like building where the keyword is quantity (of sales). they have not heard of quality).

The piece that one is supposed to rest ones back on when sitting got screwed. Literally. One of the screws went in skew (badly made pilot holes), and when I tried to get it out, the metal was soft enough that my screw driver easily chipped away the little '*' grooves. It was yanked out by a friend after quite some effort with a pair of pliers.

I need to get a new screw for it - but as the pilot hole is now buggered, Ill have to figure a plan to get it to stay in there. The upshot of this whole story is that my chair does not have its back on it. Sitting is very tiring with no back support. In fact, I dont have a chair.. its a stool.

you tempt me so with your fancy recliner!!@ *sigh* so many things I want... so little money...

It was around $1,000

*ack*!

I reckon the floor sounds quite comfortable.. maybe with a blanket or so... :spam:

I discovered this while trying to find a chair to help with my backpain, It was like hearing my Martin Logans for the first time. A total pleasure to my senses. It's called The Perfect Chair - Zero Gravity Classic II. This one is black leather on a piano black lacquer base. You can buy it on a teak base but I liked the all black. See the little chrome handle on the left arm rest? This allows you to lock it in any position from sitting up to parallel to the floor. The sitting position was designed by NASA.

Usually the sofa or the floor for me ... I'd love to have one of those recliners one day, but first I need my own space in the house!

Usually I am sitting in the kitchen drinking when listening to music.

I use a three cushion leather sofa. Perhaps I should invest in something LESS comfortable, as I find myself dozing off just about everytime I listen to the system. MikE

LOL! When I wanna do some serious listening, I usually search the house for a decent chair... and I have a similar problem.

I dont go to sleep, but my eyes close and although Im listening - I almost start to snooze!

I use a bamboo rocker with cushions. Real comfortable, a couple of beers and well you know!! I love it. Resonates like hell on certain bass notes. Not audibly just vibes real nice kind of like "Magic Fingers".;)

Actually I do stand in front of the speakers much of the time. It makes it easier to play air guitar along with Peter Frampton or get down with Black Sabbath with a little air bass.
Tonight though I got home and my wife has rearranged the front room so that my old falling apart though just now comfortable recliner is in nearly an ideal position, I just need to move all the stacks of unused gear out of the way to get to the system. :D

I finally found a decent shape Lay-Z-Boy type recliner chair at the Salvation Army Store up in Barrie (an hour away) and got it for $25, (~$16 US). I didn't realize in the store that it was so toxic from cigarette smell however and it has been several days spraying it with smell remover and carpet shampoo and sitting it in the sun to make it tolerable for me. I still need to treat it some more but it is in place in my home theater/listening suite and I can now just let my physical being dissolve into the music with my eyes closed and listen to those new full-range horns. Yeah!

Thor,

Man, that is such a much better investment for your money than a power cord! Heck, compared to that cord, you'd even have enough left over for a lifetime supply of toilet paper!! :p:
