BrianB 05-05-2008, 09:45 PM Thanks to everyone who dropped by my room this year - I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Also, my apologies for not bringing the Music Reference gear mentioned at the top of this thread. Due to shipping difficulties, I was unable to show these products off as promised. But I think it all turned out for the best, with the wonderful Manley Labs Stingray (a long-time favorite around here) doing most of the amplification duties...
Happy listening!

I'm so glad you were able to drop by, and I really appreciated your comments at the show! And yes, I too love the F.J. Oms. Last year, it was a toss-up as to whether I would show off the Oms or Cain & Cain's Wall-O-Sound speakers. And so, because I brought the W3s in 2007, I knew I had to bring the Oms this time around. I think it turned out well.
Urizen 05-05-2008, 09:54 PM Great sounding system, Brian, and a pleasure to meet you. Thanks for 5 years of support at the Fest!:thmbsp:

I don't feel as bad now for missing the fest. The music reference gear has me very interested but I'd want to hear it first.

Yes, and I had very much looked forward to demonstrating it! I've spent a bit of time listening to Music Reference's RM-10 MKII and EM7 amps, and both are extremely impressive.
At the same time, I am beginning to think that it might not make sense for me to carry this line. Music Reference has traditionally been a "factory direct" company, and although we were able to reach some agreements regarding how Venus Hi-Fi could sell Music Reference without affecting the pricing of this gear, I have come to realize that one of Music Reference's strengths is their ability to customize almost any unit to the buyer's preferences. And this kind of flexibility almost demands that potential buyers should be working directly with the company, rather than relying on a dealer as the middle man...
