Songbird actually has a guitar, WAYYYY in the back. Two instruments.

The reason I know this, is because I'm stoned and hear it on my Dual at the moment. :thmbsp:

yeah, the hints were helpful but i saw the Rumors Album on Classic Albums on VH1 Classics and that helped as well

plus, I verified the 19 platinum awards at www.riaa.org to confirm my suspicions

ROFLMAO I had just finished watching that Classic album show when the Idea for the question popped up.

And as to there being a guitar on the song NOPE The show details the song completely and Christie Macvie sat at a piano in Zeller auditorium alone on stage and played and sang the song thru from start to finish all night long until they got what they figured was the perfect take.

Her a Piano a dozen roses and a little champagne was all that was on stage except for the recording equipment and 3 spot lights.

Mark, I assure you, there is a guitar in there.

I was a radio dj for 12 years, and while the tv show you speak of is indeed correct, there was an earlier track that bled through.

It is common knowledge that Rumours was tinkered with so many times, you could literally SEE through the tape.

Strangely, I happen to know the guy who now owns the board it was recorded upon! I think "Eliminator" by ZZ Top was recorded on that as well.

Just to double check, since I have more than once been under the influence of flammable horticulture, I asked my longtime friend and current dj of the WAYYYYYYYYYYY in the back guitar.

"Yep. It's there. Just extremely faint."

If I am indeed wrong, I apologize, but I'm pretty certain.

Give it a listen with headphones, and not the new, remastered discs. Pull out your vinyl or a first-pressing, as perhaps they've now removed it. But on my copy, yep....not-so-loud and clear!
