I found this album on iTunes awhile back called, "Volk und Jodel Meisters" by Berner Liedertafel. It's like some kind of German/Alpine folk music. It's phenomenal! Especially in this currently snowy climate in which I reside. Yodeling fits well with ice-covered trees. Turns out I really like yodeling... some might call that pathetic, others might call that... pathetic...
But I want more! Anybody know any other good artists/collections in this (I'm assuming) niche genre? I like "country" yodeling too, just as long as it isn't that pathetic, twangy, overproduced garbage that passes for modern country music. Think "Cattle Call."
I highly recommend checking that album out on iTunes. Especially a track called, "Hirtenruf - Auf Der Alp." This lady has a set of pipes that could knock down a cathedral. Seriously. I'm sure she modulates at the resonance frequencies of a stone freaking cathedral in there.
