Haven't listen to much Tull lately....until today on the 3rd hour:banana:.....
but my personal fav is the entire album Thick As A Brick
Being a AARP card holder and growing up 1 mile from the Capital Thester in Port Chester NY I had the honor of seeing the mega bands before they were mega.....now back to Bungle............

My 12 yr old daughter has taken up the flute, and was saying the other day that it was a shame nobody used it in pop music. "Wait a minute, kiddo, hang on, dig these"..
She really liked "Thick As A Brick" and "Living In The Past". Then I told her never to be afraid to do something musical because you think it just hasn't been done before.

My 14 year old son has been playing flute for a couple or three years now. He was in a flute recital yesterday in which he performed Benjamin Godard's "Allegretto-Op.116. Did a great job I thought. We've seen Tull a couple of times together. It's nice to be able to share that with our kids, isn't it?

Time to take your kids back to some of the earlier classics from Benefit and Stand Up. Nothing is Easy and Reasons for Waiting come to mind.

I hit her with the greatest hits album first. I usually whack 'em with the more accessible stuff first then give 'em the lowdown on what else is out there.
She also really dug "Bungle in the Jungle". The rivers are full of crocodile nasties.
It IS great to share this stuff with the kids. My parents did it with the Beatles and Stones. My Dad took me to see Segovia. Then they both completely dropped the ball. I want to do better than that. I'll be looking for Godard's piece-thanks for the info.
Hammr7, if you think South Jersey is the gates of Hell, come to KC. I'll trade with you any old time.

A favorite since high school (1980, when it sure wasn't hip). Still don't listen to my friends that hate everything after Aqualung...

I recently got an original island pink label of This Was.....with no sleeve sadly but for one euro that's still a bargain for some quallity music.

For some reason early Tull was less popular when I was at school in the 80's. The kids who loved Tull were all about Heavy Horses and Songs From The Wood which are much less interesting to me. I like their stuff pretty solidly up to Thick As A Brick, less so after that.
