I found a mid eighties Japanese pressing of this on CD last night. No obi. Otherwise nice shape. the year on the disc is 1986. Catalogue No. VDJ-1503E. It's also in Mono. Almost all of the booklet info is in Japanese. I only have one other Japanese CD Pressing this old. Well a couple if you count the Harvest Black Disc DSOTM. I am sure it's rare.

It might be a rare CD, but the album itself has been released numerous times. From legendary 1956 quintet session(s) that also included the albums Steamin', Workin', and Cookin'. Story goes that Davis owed the Prestige label 4 albums, so he took his quintet into the studio and knocked off four albums in a day or two, all tunes in one take or so. Contrast that to how albums are usually made today (only to end up crap). Classic material, look for the other three too. Go to http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:0ifuxqt5ldke~T1 for more info.

I believe this CD was the first CD pressing of this. Sure, the Vinyl has been issued many times. I was aware of that. This CD has been issued many times also. Thanks for the input. I have his quintet box set that includes some stuff from the Steve Allen show. I have heard just about everything Miles ever did.
