I am considerably new to vinyl collecting but am getting to the point where I need some sort of organization. What ways do you keep track of your records (computer databases, etc.)?

I use Microsoft Works speadsheets. Easy to work and especially when its the same performer on several or more albums I can just drag down and fill in the blanks. I list Artist, album name, condition of cover, condition of vinyl, year album was pressed, label, and if I have more than one copy.

Classical is what is tough, with combinations of conductors, orchestras, and composers. Multiple pieces by different composers, performed by different performers, may appear on the same LP.

Check out www.rateyourmusic.com , you can catalogue music and do a lot more. Awesome website, but highly addictive, so beware. ;)
