I picked this cool turntable up on an eBay auction for a good price. PMs back and forth with PMSUMMER helped me out a great deal on this table since he also has one. He posted a picture of his on the "Post pics of your turntable" thread and it inspired me to find one of my own. When I first received it, I couldn't figure out how the cartridge mounts on the headshell and PMSUMMMER was kind enough to take pictures of his and explain that there is a clip that slides out to which you mount the cartridge. Well I got it hooked up and the table worked beautifully mechanically. One channel however was not producing sound at all. Further investigation revealed that one of the wires coming out of the tonearm was either broken or cut! For those of you not familiar with this, the tonearm wires are not 4 individual wires, but 2 extremely tiny 2 conductor shielded wires! the cut was only about 1/2" from where the wire came out of the tonearm, so splicing it was an extreme challenge! The work paid off because now the table functions perfectly! This is my first idler-wheel drive turntable so I wasn't sure what to expect. It is surprisingly quiet and sounds good with an AT-95 cartridge mounted. I have to admit that my big heavy Rek-o-kut K-33 belt drive is a better sounding table, but this one is just plain cool and screams vintage 50s or 60s hi-fi.
My digicam is on loan to a friend, so the pics are from the auction:

BTW: I only have the single spindle for this table which is fine by me since I won't stack records!!

Nice looking turntable.
I've got an Elac Miracord that I picked up in a thrift shop for $3. I'm impressed by the build quality and also the fact that it's a four speed: 16 2/3, 33 1/3, 45, and 78. Of all the turntables collecting dust in the garage, this is the most likely to undergo rebuilding.

Thanks, it's a neat table.

Stacking records with an "umbrella" type stacker won't hurt the records any more laying a record on a turntable mat is (perhaps even less). The label area and the LP lip are raised above the grooves so that the "data area" (hmmm, mixed metaphors) stays untouched, even during loading.
I've got a number of multi-disc sets that are pressed 1/4, 2/3, so stacking Quadrophenia (or Parsifal) allows me to hear two sides without having to get up. Save a search for "Miracord changer spindle" on Ebay.
Congratulations again on saving a nice deck! Enjoy! :thmbsp:
