hey-Hey!!!,
I just heard about a resurrection of a 1948 live performance by Woody. It got taken down originally with a wire recorder. After getting it off the wire, a Mathematician applied some magic to remove/reduce wow-flutter and speed induced errors. They also did some noise reduction on it while in there. I may go and get this one, though I wish they'd put the unrestored one in the same envelope, perhaps on a second disc.
cheers,
Douglas

That's where I heard it too...:) What made me a bit envious was the ability to get both tracks running simultaneously and could switch back and forth between them. I wished I was at home with the tube gear and a fine tuner instead of driving home from work.

I am going to go after that Prof, I want to ask him about the noise reduction techniques and what risk they pose to the music information.
cheers,
Douglas

This guy obviously hates analog and vinyl. :tears:

But good job. I still liked the original version better. Like that one caller said.

I am sending an angry email to Talk Of The nation, to correct them on some not-so minor points....:gigglemad:
