Mine sounded pretty good out of the box, But some say 30 to 200 hrs!

I just think it grows on you. Enjoy!

If you are a critical listener and your system is well setup and is resolving, expect to hear the amp to change over the first 40 hrs in terms of more solid, authoritative bass and smooth out on the top end as well as open up the soundstage somewhere around 100+ hrs. :music:

Mine settled-in at 58hours 12minutes and 36seconds:D In all honesty about 50 hours to 75hours is when it sounded as PHC1 mentioned.

Thanks ... My MC402 has about 8 hrs and while it sounds very refined, it could use bit more weight. This may be due to the new MIT Z Cord II power cord that the amp is using. Rest of the system is very refined (Classe CDP10, C2200 preamp, VPI scoutmaster/Grado reference, MIT interconnects S3, Shunyata Hydra 4/python feeding preamp/CDP10/VPI; all equipment on Zeothecus stand). I have a feeling that ~ 50 hrs might be needed as MIT suggests 2x2 rule.

Serge had also recommended that I give my 402 about 100 hrs before serious listening. I tried! Left things running 24/7 for a days and then I sat down to listen. Probably had 60-70 hrs on it by then and it sounded great. And keeps on sounding on great. I had also changed speaker cables and installed a C45 at the same time so I complicated things a bit for myself. Nothing but joy since though!
