Hello : Can anyone give me an idea what this is. C-11 can capisitor, 1000MFD, two in the can but the can has three leads, one is designated as "tie".
I am assuming this is used to just tie together every lead that is going to it?
Which makes it non funtional lead out of the can? Thank you for the time...

Are there any markings on the outside of the can designating what the capacitances are? Are there markings on the bottom (square, triangle and half-moon) where the lead frames are that you attach the wires to? What are you trying to determine?

The two 1000 MFD are Marked angle moon, typical, and the third designation is square with the word "tie" by it. I need to know what that means. I think it means it is a non funtional post to be used for the purpose of connecting through wires but I am not sure. Thier is a resistor and two wires going to it from places unknown. So if it just a tie post I will leave them all connected and connect the other two to my seperate 1000mfd caps. All except the tie post it is a two cap can each at 1000MFD. I will post a photo tomorrow. Thanks.

Here are a couple Pics of the little devils. Thank you

It looks like the can is marked "NC" in the Tie Point text which would be no connection. That's C103 and is part of the power supply and heater circuit and there is no 3rd connection shown in the schematic so it would seem that you are correct that it is simply a convenient spot to hook stuff together.
