I managed to get the pesky flu that's been going around - fever, cough, aches, etc. Stuck at home, and with reading giving me a headache, I thought "Well, at least I can spend some quality time listening to my system." Forget it. Even though Sudafed/etc are keeping my ears relatively open, everything sounds tinny and awful. Stuck watching TV at very low volume.

Hope you get better soon. I hate it when it goes into your ears, then it even kills that fun. :tears:

Get well soon!
Hope you feel better real soon. Sucks not being able to listen to your system and enjoy it.

Sorry to hear that my friend. There's nothing worse. At least it feels that way at the moment. However, after a few days of this misery and deprivation you will soon have an even greater appreciation for your health the pleasure of listening to your system. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hope you get well soon. I know six people that got the flu. One almost died from it! Was not taking enough fluids, kidneys and liver almost shut down.

Sorry to hear that. My wife was down with it for 5 days or more. Hope you get well soon, and enjoy that fantastic system of yours.

I was out 2.5 days with the flu. I never listened to a tune.

Get well soon. In the mean time, you can "look" at those McIntosh eye candies you own. They'll make you feel better =)

This, too, shall pass. Even though it don't seem like it right now. Just take it easy, get lots of rest, let it wear itself out. About all you can do.

Thank you guys for all the good wishes.
Feeling a bit better today, and I agree that being sick once in a while gives you greater appreciation for being healthy.
Thanks again for the messages.

Glad you are doing better. :)
I have been crossing my fingers since I heard they totally blew it with this year's flu vaccine.

yeah, it sucks :(
I hardly listen to music when I've got the flu, or a cold, or something else bothering your ears...
it just plain sucks then...
Well, at least we do have those nice blue meters to cheer us up... :D
Keep them spinning,
Bert.

Blew it? Vaccines have been a fraud for the past 100 years!!
Let's not get me started on that topic.. least I start to rant.

I know how you feel! Today is my second day back at work after being off all last week with the damn stuff. I took Nyquil at night and Contac during the day for the whole week and they did next to nothing for the flu. :tears: So, I'm back at work, but definitely not at 100% yet and I've still got the cough. Apparently that takes awhile to get rid of.
BTW, since I've been back at work, I've had three people recommend Airborne (sp) and a couple recommend Theraflu as the miracle drugs to attack the flu with. Just thought I'd pass that along in the hope it'll do somebody some good! Unfortunately the Nyquil and Contac I took didn't do much and I've got good solid data on that! Hope everone gets to feeling better real soon! :D

I've been down for the past 5 days with a kidney stone and when it hit I thought it would be good to let it pass while listening to my Mc system. After thinking about the pain and trying to move a 67 lb amp, I decided the Sherwood setup was a smarter way. Happily the stone passed. Hope you are feeling better soon.

...took the flu vaccine last year, and oh yeah I didn't catch the flu...but I did catch norovirus and an infection of the airways the first week of the new year...no way I could listen to music on the Mc's...real torture...did like the codeine though
But hang in there...when you get better, it will be like a McRebirth :D

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the note. From what I hear the flu is nothing compared to kidney stones - I am glad it's over for you.
