True. The RP-1 can be used with a two channel Mc system. Balanced analog in and out is best. It uses AKM ADC and DACs I believe, which are high quality. This system is designed for a full range system or lg. sat-sub with biamping. If you do not have large speakers or speakers that are limited in HF power you can get into trouble quickly as large amps can overdrive the speaker system.

Ron,

The room EQ in the AP1000 is for all channels or just the mains? I understand that too much boost may kill your speakers and amp. Too much cuts may kill the sound. Force ably flattening the curve may have negative effects. What and how does the AP1000 get a flat response? How many band EQ or does it concentrates on 80HZ to 350HZ where it is most effective and safe.

The AP1000 is designed to use all the speakers. The RP-1 is stereo. Both of these systems are much more than auto EQ. They are addressing the real interaction of the speaker and the room and establishing a phase coherent sound which almost no speaker has regardless of the room.

Thanks,
Ron-C

I had the Lyngdorf RP-1 at home for a couple of weeks.

It does what it advertises, however it only gives you Lyndorf's version of what is flat frequency. You cannot change the frequency to what you prefer and there is no multiple frequency curves that are either saved or can be changed by yourself.
For me it was no good.

Try the Copland - it has a good rep. I have not tried it.
