AK Fest is coming up, and there are only 2 member listening rooms left for sale as of this moment. I know, I just read Grumpy's post about it, here:

I have a listening room this year, my third year participating in this manner. It's a ton of fun getting a listening room, and if you are at all inclined to do so, you should consider it. Go in with a buddy, and then you can take turns watching the room and going to see the 'Fest. The 'Fest is not snobby at all. You could bring a rig at any level of the hobby, and people will hang out and dig it. It's really a great time. We're really lucky by geography, the AK Fest and the SMAC club are a perfect intersection. Some SMACers have already gotten member listening rooms, so you'd be in familiar company!

Great post. SMAC members are most welcome at the fest. How cool would it be to have your rig heard by some 600 people. :thmbsp:

It's just possible that your system is the one that influences someone to seek out better sound for their own home. A dyed-in-the-wool SS fan gets converted to tubes, for example, after spending some time in your room.
It COULD happen...

Never know. A die hard tube nut could be converted to SS as well. Hey it could happen ! :)

I've enjoyed visiting all of the vendor's rooms but it's most fun to hang out in the member rooms. I loved the preamp in a cigar box last year. Fun stuff and it sounded good too. :)

I'll take a room if one is still available, I'll have to locate a van but I'll worry about that later, thanks, Dave.

You mean that has happened??!!
I always thought it was the other way around...Thats what happened to me ...I just cant afford tubes rite now....
But ...alas:sigh:.... some day....
Back to the topic... its also unfortunate that I will not be able to make it to the fest again this year as I have started a new job and will still be in the probationary period and taking time off isnt reely kosher... know what I'm sayin?...( I work Saturdays)
And with gas prices what they are ...even Budafest is out of the mix...:tears:
I guess I will have to have my own personal fest this year ...crank my tunes ...and drink some beer and some Mad Dog... I will have a good time ...:D:drunk:
