Anyone knows what it means?

Stanton681EEES 03-02-2008, 07:31 AM Welllllllllllllllllllllllll in most cases it's a dam nice sounding pressing. Leestereo 03-02-2008, 09:51 AM Masterdisk is a mastering company. Robert Ludwig used to work for them (initials RL in the dead wax indicates he did that particular record). Other mastering stamps of note include Sterling, Townhouse, TML (The Mastering Lab). ampegdan 03-02-2008, 09:51 AM I think that's the company who did the mastering/pressing. SkyLounger 03-02-2008, 10:28 AM Great! Thanks... drail 03-02-2008, 10:40 AM Be sure to check out any Joe Walsh albums. He liked to leave weird messages. stuwee 03-02-2008, 12:10 PM Zep had some trippy stuff too, some LP's has stamped stuff and some it looks lightly hand etched with a scribe or something.:scratch2: Craig KentTeffeteller 03-02-2008, 03:14 PM Hi, MasterDisk is the mastering studio which cut your LP. Robert Ludwig was their star cutting engineer. Lee Hulko also cut for them as well. If you wish, I'll post some of my favorite mastering labs and their engineers. SkyLounger 03-02-2008, 04:18 PM Hi, If you wish, I'll post some of my favorite mastering labs and their engineers. Sure! Gordy Smiff 03-02-2008, 06:58 PM On occasion United Artists pressings had some interesting engravings in the dead wax. Hawkwinds' Warrior On The Edge Of Time has ''A Porky Prime Cut'' etched into it. I'm fairly sure the name ''Porky'' made it onto a few others too, but I could be wrong.
