Its got 2 10" 8 ohm speakers. 1 15" leslie, and it turned out to be solid state and not tubed. Im saying that because i opened it up and there are no tubes.

This one to be exact. no affiliation..

What would you do with it, I dont play, have no intensions on playing it. Everyone says sell it, but me being me, i want to gut it. I can use the sides of it for speaker stands.(as the tens are mounted on the sides. The 15" leslie is mounted on the front) figure i could take that big piece of wood that its mounted on and all of it would be open baffle. It does have a black power supply that everyone uses in there tube amps, and it has aluminum chassis for it and some other box located up in the top right. as it is 12:22 right now im not gonna go get pics, but i will. In the top of this thing there is a long metal box (aluminum like a tube amp chassis) that has a warning on it that says "don not touch anything as you can frie the transistors, it the thing that disipate heat to the heatsink) i wanna open it up but unsure what or if there is tubes in there. It is a baldwin orgasonic model 56. did any of these come with tube amps? Eveything works ive been playing with it, but i have better dreams. oh and it does have a loud humm when i push the volume pedal from quiet to loud. grounding? Ive played with all the volume pots and the little knobs in there, but they are all back in place, dont worry fellas.

What would you do with it, no one around here would want the thing, it sat on a freecycle for a month, and i said im on it, wife agreed!

Not much to do with it, other than what you are doing. I don't see much else with it. The power amps are in modules IIRC. Not much to write home about with them as well.

The manuals (i.e. keyboard assemblies) are perhaps marketable to a specific crowd--to wit a society of those that like to restore old electronic organs. Not sure how many of us exist that would perhaps have such a forum. I've done repairs of electronic organs for nearly 30 years, but cannot be bothered to look for such a site. No money in it for me. :o But at the same time if it is observed that the contacts of the manuals are in good shape, and that the keyboards are responsive overall, then they may be of interest to someone trying to restore a Baldwin console. (As to why I cannot imagine--fwiw!)

But you could perhaps Google to get some hits on this matter, I suppose....Luck to ya! :thmbsp:

Kudos to your wife, BTW!

Your organ model was introduced in 1967 or 1968. None of the 56 series organs (there were 56As, 56Bs, etc.) was tube. It was not the first SS organ made by Baldwin, as the 70 series organs (71, 72, 73, 74) were SS and were produced as early as 1961.

There isn't a huge market for many of these SS organs. They don't have the features of the newer ones, and are more of a pain to keep running. Interest tends towards the more grandiose versions made for churches and large halls.

You might find a decent number of discrete components, but removing them intact can be tedious. If you have the manuals you might be able to use part numbers to find replacement part pricing to give you some guidance as to whether anything might have value.

i doubt it has value, maybe to someone as a sentimental thing. no manual, only book it came with is the setup, plug it in, switch this on, and this, and this to be a regular organ.

Why move to dollars and sense, im not getting rid of it, or asking what value would be? Its audio related? i was purely asking general questions on what to do...

Why move to dollars and sense, im not getting rid of it, or asking what value would be? Its audio related? i was purely asking general questions on what to do...It's an ebay link.

Ebay links belong in Dollars and Sense, i've seen moderators express this countless times, and i trust them to be on top of these matters.:thmbsp::D

refrence.....

refrence.....Understood

Specifically, there probably wasn't anything wrong with the way you used it. But, new users will allow seeing the link outside of D&S to set a precedent for them and will drop auction or CL links in any forum which just creates more work for the mods. So, maintaining a blanket policy of those links strictly belonging in D&S helps make the mods jobs a little easier.................................... this is my WAG anyway.

FWIW, when a reference to an auction is of significant value to a post, i just reference the item number which isn't a link, yet makes it easy for those interested to find. This seems to be accpted/tolerated by the mod team, i try to keep the practice to a minimum tho.

Just my .02............................
