A friend is looking to pick up a projector to use this spring/summer for back-yard get-togethers.
So, it must:
1) Be somewhat durable. If sitting in an open window, it will be inside, but still susceptible to a degree to the outdoor weather.
2) Be AFFORDABLE. He'll go used, so suggestions are welcome as to which models to look for.
3) Be serviceable. I don't know too much about these, so what does one need to worry about? Or need to address maintenance-wise? Bulbs? Filters? Anything?
Lastly, any suggestions on a screen? I suggested an 8' by 4' piece of plywood, painted flat or satin white, or a piece of canvas painted with an oil based paint for durability and ability to withstand moisture.
So, to re-cap, he's looking for a video projector, used, affordable, and serviceable, as well as a screen- home built is fine, but it needs to be able to be moved- nothing permanent.
suggestions?
