No affiliation and listed IMO at a very high price. I have to admit that the auction is a how-to in listing a piece for auction. Very well placed pics, angles and lighting, etc.

A VERY gorgeous piece, IMO.

Purty piece, but $2K ?!? Oh, Prunella...

Absolutely nice piece. However, I'm not in agreement about the advert. All capital letters I can read the first couple of lines and then forget it. The content is way too wide to view on my screen. The photos fill it side to side. Not sure why this happens but every so often I have this problem with an advert and it is consistent on all of my computers in the house.

As for the price, not sure. Probably more than the market value except to a hardcore collector. I'd love to have something like that in that condition.

$2K would buy a lot of other gear that I would rather have in my situation. I had a chance to locally purchase a unit almost if not exactly like the one listed in this auction. It sold for about $200 and I still passed on it. I knew it wasn't for me and would be difficult to resell and ship. Very cool unit however, I wish the seller well with his auction.

But too expensive.

Great photographs and presentation at least gives him the opportunity to sell this console at that price, even if it is a bit unlikely.

Ck. out the B&O receiver he has in his other auctions, very cool!

SEE the photographs below, pretty nice looking receiver.

That is similar to the one I picked up for free. The one for sale is in excellent condition, but man that is asking a lot.

EL95 driver tubes? That's a new one on me - admittedly that's not saying much though.

I see it went for $1000. I think it's a decent price.

Maybe those who have obtained one for less money scoff at this kind of dough- but to me, I'd say it's a bargain.

Now that it is over, I'll weigh in. I've been saying for quite some time that stripping consoles was like parting out a unit and one day those who did would look back and bemoan destroying the units. Yes, I know that the electronics are saved but at a loss of a complete unit. I've been noticing for some time the going prices for good consoles have been going up.

Agree wholeheartedly, Brian. Especially nice mid-century modern consoles like this one... works of art when kept together - but just electronics and scrap wood when taken apart.

Still a bit too expensive for an opening bid IMO but this unit is very nice indeed.

I see German consoles all the time at estate sales. Usually they go for $40. I saw a nice Saba go for $20.
Although, I admit that one is really nice. Must be TOTL.

Amen brother

Guy had the attached for sale, his dad had it custom built back MANY years ago and picked components to match(Garrard SL-95 turntable;Kenwood KR5150 stereo receiver / tuner. Pioneer SR-202 reverberation amplifier; Two Vitavox DU-120 duplexspeakers,(each mounted & encased in 36" cabinets)
Son broke the unit up, someone wanted just the speakers. He sold-tis a shame

That thing IS nice, but at $1K starting bid, the guy's still smokin' crack, IMHO.

I agree, maybe $300-$400 but not $1k. There just isn't any demand for the electronics in that type of unit so you're just buying a piece of furniture that's a glorified tuner.

It is a really nice piece of furniture though.

I just want to live in the house where they took picture #12.

Damn, I missed that one! :D10 ft ceiling is my guess. Some nice housing in the area this is being sold out of (McClean, VA). I used to work out of Springfield, VA in the 80's

Well, judging by condition, and by what the Telefunken Opus 7 radio that I restored for someone sounded like, I'd say $1000 was a BARGAIN. If I would've had the funds, and been near enough to pick it up, I would've gone for it.

And NO, I wouldn't have taken that one apart. I'm sure Allison would approve of the purchase, but she would've done great damage to me in my sleep if I would've taken something like that and gutted it (she's a Veterinarian, think about it).

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I think $1000 would have been a decent price.

People are willing to pay top dollar for Telefunken tubes all the time among other things. What's the difference with a unit like this? It's a beauty and it's complete and I bet it sounds just as good as it looks..
