I just picked this unit up even though one channel sounded a bit off at times. Seems the signal may have been getting ugly in the selector as Deoxit has come to the rescue again. Tightening the tabs on the volume control and a general cleaning yields a fine unit needing a bit of work.

The offset is 25mV L and 75mV R. I know these Kenwoods do not have an adjustment so what are my options?

EW servo?
EW trim pot?
Replace the driver (pre-driver?) transistors
Or will a recap fix most of the problem.

Offset is high (a lot higher than desired), but not so high as to be an indicator of anything except that the FET hasn't stayed too well balanced through the years. Forget finding replacements for those FET's, unfortunately. Best solution is to build a servo and add it on.
