I got my belts from here (http://www.studiosoundelectronics.com/cdlasers.htm#BELT). The draw on mine wouldn't even open they were so stretched out.

If you do not know the belt size and you are using their measuring technique go with a size smaller then you measure if the belt is really stretched out.

sounds good, I wrote yamaha customer service. Those folks are on the ball mostly, (Yamaha go figure) and i expect they will tell me the proper size, if they cant locate that info, the measuring techniques sounds pretty easy and relatively foolproof since the belt only serves one purpose.

Considering the belts are less thrn $1 I'd order several sizes if they cannot give you a size.

Virtually 100% of the Yamaha CDPs I find on the swap pile at our town dump have exactly the same problem -- the stretched drawer drive belt.

My typical temporary fix is a small rubber band :-)

I appreciate this post because I have a CDC-765 that sticks. I assumed it was because of a beer that got spilled on it once, so I never really thought about it being a belt issue! Thanks for the info to a question I was too embarassed to ask...

I think Sake would have been more appreciated.....always ask, we have made most all the mistakes (collectively) here at AK I am pretty comfortable wearing the dunce cap on occasion, in the near future i will be starting a thread to have markthefixer help me thru a pioneer amp that i shorted the amp boards with my bad eyes...talk about embarrassing....lol
