I finally landed a nice score. Harman Kardon A30K tube amplifier and the tube receiver F50XK. I believe the amp is actually the A300, but it is supposedly a kit version. I am not positive, but after looking at the A300 online they seem to be exact. After a simple cleaning and Deoxit treatment both fired up and played fine. I got these from a friend who shops estate sales and he sold both to me for $100. He picked up 2 JBL Olympus C50 speakers for $65 each. Made me sick! They were from the original owner and in excellent condition. I told him I would double his money, but he laughed and said be happy with the HK's. I am very happy with these HK's and I have a Van Alstein Super Pass II tube pre-amp that should fit nicely. Any advise or direction about these would be nice.

Real nice units. I had an A300 in college in the 60's and I've recently recapped about a half dozen of the A300/30K's for resale and they are a real sweet amp. I have put together a spreadsheet of a list of caps and sources if you want. I also have scans of the schematic and owners maunual if you are interested. The A300 and A30K appear identical, except for the faceplate. I've seen some A30K's that had 'neater' wiring than the factory units. All of the A300's I've seen have a ink stamped serial number on the chassis, while the A30K were blank or had a paper serial tag. Most A300's and A30K's that I've seen came with Telefunken 12AX7's and 12AU7's and these are worth more than the amp. Send me a PM if you want any of the above attachments.

What's up stuwee? I made my last visit to GG today. They have one AR2 for $5. I was going to get it and part it , but I have a full plate right now. I leave for Florida on Saturday. Keep the Goose a secrete. There is also a really good place in Green Valley Called the White Elephant or something like that. You may want to check that one out too. I'll keep in touch and you do the same. Rock it till it hurts!
