This is Mrs. Wardsweb, just so you know, I do exist and I do love action movies. I also know what it's like to have a husband who pays more attention to his audio gear than he does me. I don't spend much time on the computer for fun, but I will pop in every now and then. See you around. :)

BigMacc is always willing to lend a helping hand :D isn't that what it's all about.

Mrs. Wards...if you feel BigMacc won't have room for everything...I'd also be willing to "help out" ;)

really tho...welcome to AK...good to see some of the AK wives show up. But this still doesn't mean that I'll let my wife in on this forum. Because, she'd then know exactly what my audio plans are  noway, that don't sound to good ta me ;)

again...to all the AK wives...welcome

Do any of you like sweets?

sometimes people will give us various nuts as gifts around the holidays. While I certainly do like munchin' on some cashews (or...) the wife and I never seem to eat them all. So, before long...they get old...and we throw them out.

here's a recipe you could use them in. It's really not like a peanut brittle. It's more of a hard caramel nut crunch...and it's better than brittle.

Cashew Butter Crunch

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 TBSP light corn syrup
1 1/2 cups salted cashew pieces

In a 2-quart saucepan combine sugar, butter, & corn syrup. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer reaches 290 degrees or small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms brittle strands (25-30 minutes) (you want a nice caramel color...but be careful, because this does get HOT!) . Remove from heat; stir in cashews. Spread to 1/4-inch thickness on waxed paper lined 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Cool completely; break into pieces. Then eat :D

Makes 1 1/4 pounds (20 servings)

Tip: 1 1/2 cups of your favorite salted nuts can be substituted for 1 1/2 cups of salted cashews.

Welcome Ms. Wards. I think you and Florence have something in common as I have been spending too much time in the workshop of late.

gonefishin,

here's that receipe for white trash.

box of corn chex
bag of mini pretzels
bag of plain M&M's

mix that all together.

In a seperate pan/bowl melt 5lb bag of white chocolate (may need more depending upon how much chocolate you want to cover it all)

After its melted mix with rest of ingredients. Place on a cookie sheet until cool. Break apart chunks and put in bowl for party.

It will be a hit. Always goes fast at the partys around our neighborhood.

Welcome to AK, Rose!

My wife thinks it's great that there's an AK forum for audio widows everywhere. You can be the moderator!

She says she might join. Personally, I think this might allow her to figure out how much I've got tied up in gear, which won't work out well for me as she has this odd notion that my audio gear budget should be equivalent to her jewelry budget.

Welcome aboard anyway!
