I just picked up an Atlantic Technology 422 SB. I plan was to Y off the preamp outs to feed to the sub. I currently have no dedicated sub out, the sub itself has a low pass crossover. I assume this setup is fine. I was going to use a 2-1 y adapter.

2 to 1, so the sub is mono? If thats the case theyll phase each other out wont they? I was told i needed a stereo to mono converter, if it works great but i dont want u to hurt your gear! :thmbsp:

Ordered cables and adapter to y off both pre-amp outs. One set goes to the main power amp, the other to the sub L & R inputs.

Should be ok.

You really should use some type of passive summing network to provide simple isolation (for lack of better terms) between the outputs that you are going to "Y" together.

This sub has L and R inputs. Skip the "Y" cable and run individual L and R cables. The sub will sum the signals properly and provide the isolation I previously mentioned.

The Y gives me two outputs of the preamp Lx2 & Rx2. From there I will run separate L & R interconnects to the main power amp and the sub.

Does that sound right?

Yeah, that's right.

For some reason I was reading/thinking that you were going to "Y" the L and R outputs together to feed a single input on the sub.
