Purchased a Parasound D3 disc player, it is far smarter than I am.
I am using this disc player strictly for 2 channel output.
Can someone explain in Laymans terms the difference between Analog and digital output.

The following is a quote from the player description, I am using it in stereo mode.
"Video and digital audio circuits can be turned off for purest analog audio"
Any explanations appreciated.
Thank-you,
Darryl

In Laymans terms the difference between Analog and digital output:
Analog output :connect this to a aux or cd input of an amp and you should hear music coming from the speakers.
Digital output :if you want to use this you connect it to a digital input on a dac
(a devise which converts a digital signal (0 and 1 /on or off) into a analog signal)
the output of the dac is then connected to the amp.

A dac can be a standalone device or build into the box of a different device,
most cd players have dac(s) build into them some modern amps as well.

"Video and digital audio circuits can be turned off for purest analog audio"
Turning off what you dont need will clean up the sound because what is turned of cant polute its enviroment (rfi =radio frequency interference and or power supply)

Hope this helps

Thanks for explanation but I will have to read a few times to understand a bit better, I am bypassing tone controls on my preamp and using unbalanced cables on a direct input from disc to preamp.
