Apparently my "pitch belt" is kaput...never typed that sentence before! Anyway, anyone know the cheapest way to replace this? I offered the turntable to a local friend but I don't want him stuck with an expensive repair bill. Is it even worth it to fix the darn thing? I never used the TT before.
THanks...

That is the little toothed belt on the speed selector? I think the Needle doctor has them. I don't know how much, but worth checking. Nice enough table.
I often wonder why there are so many "where to buy/get <whatever>?" threads from posters who don't mention their location (either via profile or in the text)...

Well, in my case I was thinking that the mailing fee for a pitch belt would be so insignificant that location could not possibly matter. If I was wondering where I could buy a stand-up 16" transcription turntable then I might mention I live in Boston. It would certainly bring down the cost if I could simply drive over and pick up a 120 pound turntable. I didn't mean to be secretive...
No offence meant, and neither did I assume you to be secretive (at least not on purpose ;)) - so just take it as a hint. But yes, I'd claim it's always helpful to state one's location for questions like that, 'cause it's not only about shipping cost. It's also about shipping possibilities and payment options - i.e., not every vendor will ship to every destination and support every payment method - and also sometimes about product versions (e.g. different belt drive pulleys for 50 / 60 Hz AC...).

Seems kind of pricey for a 5" belt, but then I'm finding anything for a Dual to be dear. Just bought a 1249 for $10 that I'm sure is going to test both my skill and my wallet.

I love the, "and has a lot of teeth", part.
