View Full Version : Noob from Seattle area . . .
shakyleg 03-20-2008, 05:40 PM Hi all - I wanted to introduce myself. Been lurking on and off for about a month, trying to learn/pickup tidbits when I can. I don't have much experience with audio, but I consider my self a fast learner :D
Anyway, I inherited a McIntosh Mac 1700 from my grandfather who passed away this past fall. I have great memories of him listening to it, so I am planning on using it as one of many ways to remember him. Its in good cosmetic shape and I recently sent it off to be brought back to "factory spec." I can't wait to get it back! At some point I am going to have to get some input on speakers . . .
Thanks to all of the posters for being such a great resource!

Sir.Byrd 03-20-2008, 06:04 PM Great to see more from Seattle! Check out craigslist, there are tons of speakers there, also the goodwills here are excellent. Just avoid white van speakers.

I inherited a McIntosh Mac 1700 from my grandfather who passed away this past fall.Sorry for your loss, but I have to say Grandfather had excellent taste. Very nice piece of gear, and wonderful that you have kept it and will continue using it instead of sending it to the auction block or the Goodwill.
