New to Home Theater Question (Pinnacle)

Hi There,
I am starting out and have a few questions about the brand Pinnacle.
A friend of mine (out of town) has a complete MB5500 set up offered to me at a reasonable price. (6 speakers in total)
Has anyone heard this system and can offer an opinion?
In addition my friend has a neighbor who is thinking about selling his Pinnacle Quantum Plasma 9 (for a larger one) front speaker system. (I could add additional speakers to complete the set up).
Any first hand experience on either would be great.

Here's a review (http://www.hometheatermag.com/compactspeakers/405pinnacle/index.html) of the MB5500. Keep in mind who pays the bills of these stereo magazines with advertising.

Personally, i don't like any of these small speaker home theatre speaker kits. But that's just me.
