If you ever have a chance to pick up any of Acoustic Alchemy's CD's, do it. I have 6 of their albums, and their music always makes my system sound amazing. Great music and great recordings.

I started with Red Dust and Spanish Lace back in '87 and have enjoyed their stuff ever since. Very well mixed and pleasing to the ears. Losing Nick Webb back in '98 looked like it was really going to effect their style in a negative way but their 2000 release The Beautiful Game was very good.
I still prefer their MCA recordings the best though.

I have in addition to RD & SL

~Blue Chip 1989
~Arcanum 1996
~The Beautiful Game 2000

If you like Acoutic Alchemy, you may also find Checkfield's stylings to your likings as well.

Agreed! I have almost every disk and have seen them live twice. Unfortunately it was post Web.

Their disks are recorded quite well and do make a good system sing. For a little more electric, try Against the Grain.

Last year picked a cassette by them and inside the case it was signed by the members plus the tickets from a performance at the now gone Caravan of Dreams in Ft. Worth, TX. This cassette sounds amazing.

I find almost all the MCA Master Series recordings to be superior. Jerry Douglas and Albert Lee as well as Larry Carlton and John Jarvis all made fantastic albums under that label. If you're looking for high-grade vinyl, try to find a few of those Samplers. They sound amazing.

Acoustic Alchemy was just one of many that I collect from that era.

Yea, they are really well produced albums. I started with Red Dust as well. I now have Red Dust and Spanish Lace, Natural Elements, Against the Grain, AArt, Arcanum, Back on the Case, and This Way.

They are great for a laid back afternoon.:music:
