OK, I swore I was cured of my tuner addiction, and wouldn't browse the tuner section of eBay ... but. I saw a listing for a Parasound TDQ-150 for $50 BIN, and went for it. This tiny little tuner - 8.5" wide, maybe 1.5" high or so - sounds terrific! It brings in my local NPR station very quietly, in a hilly, difficult reception area, with just a simple dipole antenna. Pics to follow.

Awful addiction Rich. I have tuners coming out of ears, yet I will surf ebay fm tuner section religiously.

Same here. I need a cure and hearing about a cute Parasound that sounds terrific is not helping. However, CONGRATS.

I don't have your disease at all. Nope. :D

Of course, that's not just because good tuners are rarely seen around these parts. Other things which are common here, like good turntables, amplifiers and speakers, well... I do have way too many of those, which you could call a problem. But I don't have any problems with being some kind of a tuner-hound!

While we are talking about tuners, anyone have a lead on a local Marantz 2130? How about a Sansui TU-717 or TU-919? Sure wish I could find 'em, preferably affordably priced... or any other really good tuners.

:D:D:D

P.S. (for the long-timers here...) I eat tuna. Does that count?

I was using a $10 yard sale BOTL Kenwood KT-2001 tuner for a while.

Then my father gave me his black-faced Sansui TU-7700 tuner....end of story.

Was that from akerbird? He had four, sold you one and is still trying to sell the other three on Ebay.

Why two? Do you use them together, different systems, or wanted a backup?

Different systems. They will fit in much smaller spaces than big tuners like my TX-9500, so they were perfect for a couple of spots. My "whole house stereo" is a Ramsey FM transmitter, so I've got a number of places that need tuners.
