I picked up this Marantz 2226B for $30.00 at the local SA. It sounds good but the dial lamps are all out. Does anyone have a source for the lamps?

I beat you for the price! I picked one on the sidewalk this past summer,
and the only problems I found were a non working signal meter and...
burned out dial lights! Nice find anyway, enjoy!

Nice unit, nice price, I have that one down for seven 8v/200ma fuse lamps, and one 8v/60ma/4.5mm red/white wire lead lamp with metal collar, suprising there's no lamp for the dial pointer unless it requires a custom made 8v/60ma/3mm or LED?? It appears to be working in your pictures. Dave.

I was close, I paid $40.00 for mine. Owner didn't want it anymore because it wouldn't light up. Bought it as a junk unit to disect and learn on. However after a good clean and new lamps, it was good as new.

I think the 2226b is one of Marantz's best units!

Great deal. I picked up a mint 2226B from a guy on ebay for $125 a few months ago to replace my blown NAD amp. It sounds killer through my old JBL L-36 speakers and looks so cool with the blue display glowing when the room lights are turned down. One of the lamps on the right side of the display has gone out so I'll need to contact dgwojo for a replacement.

For best results, all fuse lamps need to be replaced, I ship them matched within 1ma of each other for best results, the vibrations of installation are enough to trash the original lamps, nice unit, Dave.

Is it hard to replace the lamps? I'm new to audio gear, but I just got a 2270 and it seems that both meter lamps are blown? Not sure if I should attempt this myself or find a repair place near me in Brooklyn.
Any thoughts???

I can tell you that I am, by no means,a technician but changing the "dial" & "meter" lamps in the units I have done so far is not hard.

The "indicator" lights might be a challenge if you have never soldered or just don't feel comfortable doing it.

I have yet had to tackle those myself but I might give it a shot.

Use common sense when doing anything to these old units.

If you have a plastic clip to break , don't sweat it, that can happen to the seasoned vets.

Thirty year old plastic is very brittle after all the years.

Take a look at it and see what you think.

There is a wealth of information on this website and a bunch of nice, helpful people to boot.:thmbsp:
