Finding Transistor Matches

I was looking through some old threads in search of advise on matching an Output transistor that is no longer manufactured. Found this link to a site I found very helpful. Hopefully it can help some others out there too.

The general opinion is that NTE is buying large quantity of whatever junk they can find and putting there own labels on the products. Some products are usable but there is no consistency and the can't be trusted to be a quality product. Thanks, however, for posting the link as it may be of some assistance for someone.
