I too am a bit of a JBL fan and have a set of 4628B's pro-audio type stuff.
Have recently been influenced in the ways of Altec so will see where thst path takes me. Welcome aboard :thmbsp:

I have 7 pairs of JBL's of various configurations. My main speakers are S3100, original version, same as pictured in my avatar. My favorite bookshelf speaker is the 4301B Control Monitors. I have a mint pair with upgraded crossovers by Zilch. I have L1's, L-19's, L830's w/matching center and sub, L100's, and Venue Monitors. The S3100's are bi-amped using a Denon 4802R receiver as a pre-amp and powering the horns, B&K 4420 amp for the low end. One day I want to try them with a good tube amp but that will down the road a bit. For now, I am very happy with their performance!

His reputation precedes you. That must have been an interesting experience. And to think I was in the Bay Area last year and had to turn down an invitation to meet him! :tears:

I have 2 pairs of 4311's I practically grew up with. They still sound great to me, lowly as they are.
