I need some help.
I have many movies that I transfered from VHS to DVD and they will not play on my A3... Anyone know why ?
I used +'s and -'s of diffferent brands with no luck.
To record them I used a Sony DVD recorder.
Thanks

I've been reading a bit about your machine and it seems that a lot of people have had varying issues with it. Most have been solved by the firmware update to 1.3. Check yours and see if an update is in order. Looks like they're up to version 2.0 (http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/tacpassets-images/notices/hddvd3firmware.asp) now.

Will an Oppo work ?

I bet the Oppo will work with anything.
Maybe it has something to do with Sony (Blu-ray) and Toshiba (now dead HD-DVD) antagonism.

The Sony recorder is an older one ..... not Blu-ray..

Which Sony recorder are you using? Which format are you recording them? Video,VR,???? There might be issues between the two. I only have Sony DVD players and my Sony DVD recorder plays back on the standa alone players just fine. Did you finalize the discs after recording them?

Are you having problems with discs burned/copied from a computer or different device or all of them? I have an A2 and it has played several different formats of burned DVD's.
