My wife and I will be getting into STL (St. Charles) on the 11th and will be meeting up with a friend there for dinner, beer, and probably the casino afterwards..

We have both been missing Trailhead Brewery.. thought I would see if anyone would be interested in joining us for a few?

VD: fake ID's are availible, you know.

similost: the Trailhead Brewery is owned by the people who own Lewis and Clark's, which is right across the street and is an EXCELLENT RESTAURANT. believe it or not, St. Charles has the biggest historic district in the US! be sure to take a walk down historic Main and browse the shops.

oh, and have fun in Ameristar--it's a gigantic casino, and the food is cheap but better than most restaurants anywhere. (I haven't been there, but have heard a lot about it!)

Used to live there blacknight.. been up and down that street many a time. The Lewis and Clark place must be new. Wasn't there a couple years ago (about 3?) when we left, or that I remember..

Haven't been to the casino there, but we sure gave the queen more than our share of money..

WE're going back for my wife's nephew's wedding, which all of it is there in St. Charles, even though they live in IL, so, we decided to just stay there in St. Charles instead of run back and forth to IL.. this way we can just stumble back to the hotel from the reception..

No offence to anyone living in STL, but there is very little I miss about it... Just so much more out here on the east coast... food, culture, TRAFFIC (eerrrr) beach, mountians, MONEY....

The few things I do miss about STL, taverns and bars (they all suck out here) great live bands at those bars, riding with all our crazy friends doing poker runs and such...

I don't miss the flat land and cornfields and beanfields everywhere, nor do I miss the nasty dirty city...

Other than that... It wasn't such a bad place.. just didn't afford me all the best of opportunities.. but I still end up back there about ever 6 months or so because my wife is from that area.. (Marissa, IL)

SO.. once I can remember that time my flight gets in, I'll let ya'll know..

You're not talking about St. Louis and south. :scratch2: You must be thinking of Illinois. :D

And I spent plenty of time in Richmond. To call that culture, methinks we have different definitions. I agree the bars are better here. I did enjoy Havana 59 and The Tobacco Company in Shockoe Bottoms though. I called on White Oak Semiconductor while it was being built.

True.. to the south wasn't too bad.. really liked going out to Stone Hill winery.. what was that 94? that was such a beautiful ride?

Taking off west out 70 to KC was pretty flat and cornfield filled though...

Yeah.. Illinois was really flat and full of fields.. until you went south there too.. loved the ride down and in Giant City state park..
