Pics of my new babies...

Saw an ad on craigslist yesterday morning that said "Sansui amp and tuner for sale". Gave the guy a call about three hours after the listing went up but no one answered so I left a message. I, of course, figured it was probably already gone so I forgot about it. So the guy calls me back at about 9 o'clock last night and tells me that he's been gone all day and that he still has them. I ask what the model numbers are and he tells me it's an AU-20000 and a TU-717 tuner:sigh:. Needless to say I asked him if I could come by and check them out right then and he said no problem. So I hopped in my truck and drove about 90 miles an hour to his house:D. A half hour later this is what I arrived to find. Two mint units that he was the original owner of. With boxes and packing materials and paperwork. He said that these had been sitting unused in the boxes for over 15 years because his wife thought they were to big and bulky to be in the house. He also told me that when he had them set up that he would not let anybody touch them or go near them and that basically he was the only person who had ever handled them. So... Long story short... Here are the pics of what I walked away with (AKA... My new babies:D). Somebody up there likes me...:banana:


Unfortunatly, the sad part of the story is that on the way home the box for the amp flew open (even though I had sealed it with tape) and all the paperwork for the AU-20000 was lost on a very busy freeway:tears:. I wanted to go back and get it but I didn't figure it was worth risking my life for.:no: What a bummer.

The other great twist to this story is that earlier in the day I also scored a pair of near mint JBL L112's. I posted those in the speaker forum yesterday if anyone wants to check them out. Plus... On top of all this I was able to clean my house from top to bottom. It was a very busy (but VERY good...) day!:banana:

As of right now they are replacing a Marantz model 7T pre and a Marantz model 16 amp.:thmbsp:
