Hi all,
My names Victor I'm new here and love the site. I have used it for awhile to get opinions of different gear. Kind of building a set-up right now, after 9 years. The kids wrecked my speakers as little ones do and I fell out of using my stereo til recently. I still bought and listened to music but mostly in the car. I've picked up a few sets of speakers now and am looking at getting a receiver to start with. It may be a slow process as I'm looking to score a deal as many are.
I currently have Onkyo gear from the early 90's, but I'm looking for a good receiver from late 70's to very early 80's. I'd like to get a turntable and buy records again, but it might be rough getting the wife to go along with that, as I already have too many cd's according to her, lol. Oh by the way I'm from La Crosse WI. Peace!

Welcome to AK, Victor! :music:
It may be a slow process...You've got the right attitude already if you're looking to do this on a budget. Patience is your friend - spend some reading the boards here, and keep your eyes open, gear will come!

One of the best things you can do is tell everyone you know that you are looking for vintage audio gear - you never know who will pull some "prize" out of their attic/basement and gift it to you!

I have a friend that used to hide most of his CDs when his parents would come to visit. They didn't think he should "waste his money" on them. He was about 30 at the time!

I told him to replace the CDs with a few Playboy magazines next time they visited and see which they preferred.

Oh, before I forget - Welcome! :thmbsp:
