Hey, this is a major random newb question but hopefully you guys can help me. I'm just looking for a small CD playing radio/small stereo that will play a cd or like last played mode when it's powered on. I'm interested cause I'm setting up a clap on disco ball in my room and wanted to also hook the stereo up to it so it automatically plays a marvin gaye cd, i know, i try. I understand many stereos do this but it would be awesome if someone could recommend a small one that they knowww def plays when turned on. Thanks a bunch!

Most car stereo CD players will go directly to play when power is applied/ they are turned on. However, I can think of no home unit which does the same thing.....
let me know when you have it working. I'll bring my Leasure Suit, silver coke spoon and Donna Summers albums. :D :puke:

That is a very interesting request and for the life of me I can think of no player, other than the Alpine in my car, that does what you are looking for. I do remember that the old Pioneer CTF series cassette decks had a timer function that would turn on the deck to play when power was applied. I don't know if that would work for you but I thought I would mention it. Good luck on your quest and welcome to AK.

argg, any possible ideas?? I really need something in order to keep this project going! Like theres gotta be something that when powered on, plays music (no matter what form it is)
Well, since my Dual 1009 turn table is an automatic record changer, if I have it unpluged and then set the switch to start, when I plug it in it will start playing. Or my friends semi automatic table plays anytime the arm is not in its holder so if you leave the arm at the start of the record and then plug it in it will start.
Get yourself an automatic turn table and some good disco vinyl (not hard to find). :thmbsp:

Hey, just thought i'd update you guys, I decided to ditch the CD idea since it seems pretty much impossible to find something that will play a CD when powered up, however I changed my idea to utilize a cassette tape instead. I figure since it's like a more manual rather than digital process, like pushing down play that can stay down rather then using a CD which doesn't have a play button that would stay down. So now I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of a small type stereo that will play a tape if the tape is like selected and play if it is pushed down. Also, if there are no stereos, do you think that maybe getting like one of those small cassette players would work and I would just plug in speakers with a jack converter into the headphone jack. This is what I mean by the small cassette player: http://www.google.com/products?q=Hamilton+SC704-P+-+cassette+player&btnG=Search+Products&show=dd
Thanks a bunch!
