Allright. Opinion time. ;)

Due to my recently losing a cool CDP to a repair-shop that went out of business (unbeknownst to me; I might add), what is the general consensus of my current crisis:

Send out my Nakamichi OMS-1A to a reputable tech here; or buy WHAT CDP for my personal use?

No real budget here; afterall, I work another schlep job just to buy sh!t for my rig! But is the Nak [I]really[I] worth repairing?
I like it and all, it just needs a Sega Genesis cartridge propped underneath it to track properly; and recently the power button popped right off of the mthrf'er....

Realize as much as I love vinyl; the ease and convience of CD's makes my collection grow more CD's than viynl.

Next, I've gotta have someone look at my Thorens.....

Sheeesh.

Thanks for any/all input fellahs.

Buy new. Most old CDP's (there are exceptions) sound cruddy. IMHO

IMO buy a slim devices squeezebox, an external hard drive and call it a day.

I can't think of a single reason to buy another CD player. I have one in my system but it collects dust.

IMO, buy new. D/A converters have come a long way over time. The OPPO is supposedly a great bargain and sounds excellent.

I'm with 240 on this one I have yet to get my Squeezebox and hard drive due to funds but I reckon it will be much more convenient then a cdp but with the same sound other then that I have a Denon DCD-1500 and love it!
