Howdy everyone ! I've searched for this topic for quite a while on this forum and it looks like it's never been too much talked about... though I think it's an important link in the chain (at least aesthetically)...

Also, it is undeniable that nice audio furniture can help a wife accept more easily the intrusion of these (sometimes massive) vintage audio pieces by offering it a better integration in the livingroom, as example.

Thirdly, the quest for nice audio furniture can be hampered by the fact that these (sometimes massive) vintage pieces are not of standard dimensions anymore... as, for example, it can be hard to find a furniture that will fit and support a very big and heavy Pioneer SX-1980...

Lastly, the usual audio furnitures commonly sold are designed to fit the widest range possible of makes, this (can sometimes) bring to a lack of space optimisation vs equipment. Also, having CDs, Vinyls and audio equipment all in the same furniture can be very convenient...

So, what do you use as audio furniture ? How did you solve these problems ? Did anyone felt the need to design and build his own furniture ? Is there a company that tackled some (or all) of these problems with success ?

I use the VTI stand for the system in our living room, very high WAF.

For speaker stands, I found some pedestal end tables that matched our other furniture in stain color, and pulled the tops off.

I try to get quality furniture from the fifties and sixties. The 'modern' style goes well with 'tech' gear and, very importantly, it's about the last time furniture you can actually find was made using real wood instead of veneered particle board. Particle board sags.
