Some recent threads got me thinking, not always a good thing I know!
Since I use my 2270 as a pre, if it's turned on is the electricity still flowing through the amp section? I play through the amp one day a month to enjoy the sound and keep things flowing thru all the doo-hickys in there:D So the rest of the time is there still a flow of electrons? I also use the tuner section occassionaly for the same reason. Thanks!

Yes still powered up.... So the electrolytics will still see a DC bias and stay "formed". But I don't remember there being many electrolytics on the amp boards....

Thanks jk, I thought so, it's by far the best sounding of all my amps, I just can't play it hard through the 'Logans, but at reasonable levels, that 3 martini sound can't be beat. I still like concert levels though, and bring out the brusiers, last night it seemed to take about a half hour before it warmed up and bloomed, guess I need to exercise it more.
