I want to obtain a vintage receiver for a bedroom system (for use with music, TV, and DVD movies).

Which model would be considered the best to get? I'm going to be using Polk Lsi 7's to listen (4 ohm at 88/89 dbw)

I was thinking of a 2270? I'm looking for recommendations.

Thanks!

To me the sweet spot of that reciever line was the 2230. I've owned 2230,2245,2270, and always felt the 2239 was the best of the three. FWIW

Jim

Which series would you recommend, and which one out of that series sounds the best?

Does anyone own a 2252B? If so, is it one of the better receivers from Marantz?

If you can only have one (more) the 2230 gets my vote. The 2245 also. Both are relatively easy to find in the marketplace.

The Marantz 2230 receiver is 30 watts of sonic heaven in my book.

I have a 2238b that will drive a pair of HD 77s to the threshold of otic hemmorage. These receivers are built like tanks and sound like an angel's choir. The looks are icing on the cake
