Exact match transistors might not be made any more. (probably aren't) That doesn't mean there aren't substitutes that will work fine. What part numbers are in your 2265? Post your old numbers, and I'm sure someone here can tell you what brand and part number will work. Probably 4-5 bux each.

Look here (http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43186&highlight=transistor+check) for test procedures. If the replacements are alot more than I stated, something sounds wrong. How much is "quite costly"? Also, beware of counterfeits that claim to be original replacements.

Tim,
For the outputs, use ON-Semi.
2SB645 use MJ21193G
2SD665 use MJ21194G
$4.40 each, plus shipping from digikey.

B&D may have the others, but their site was down a few minutes ago when I went to check.

Get together a list of what you need and perhaps we can cross reference them.
There are a lot of counterfeit 2S series transistors out there, so be careful who you order from, B&D, Mouser and Digikey have proven to be reliable.

Hi,

We need a cross-reference chart of Marantz transistor replacements posted here for the benefit of Marantz classic owners. Should be also a sticky! :tresbon:

Why? The list of alternatives is a damn short one.

Hi,

The short list would still be good as a FAQ for Marantz owners. I am referring to all Marantz SS models here and not just 2265B owners.

So am I.

TO-3 metal transisors are quickly fading away. The only trustworthy source is the ones from On-Semi, and in most cases that means replacment with:
MJ21193
MJ21194
MJ21195
MJ21196

Them's your choices. Indeed, a short list.

ok, i replacedalmost everything on the board, now when i slowly start it up with a variac i get to 50 watts and notice something cooking , it is resistor R743 22ohm 1/4 watt...i thought maybe a bad solder so i replaced it with another and i'm getting the same thing, all other replacement parts look good so far, but i'm only up to 50 watts....any help would be great
