Hi. Any Luxman R-1120 Receiver or PD-272 Turntable owners out there? Here's a pic of my Luxman system.

Hi Kajguy,

I've got the PD272 with a Shure M91ED on it. Nicely built table ad the rosewood trim is lovely. This is my second and the motor is giving a high pitched whine.

My first I bought new way back when and is with my brother. Oh, the rest of the Luxman system is a L2 amp, T1 tuner and K5A deck. I've taken the whole lot down to a friend's beach house so's we have some nice sounds when we light up the barbeque on weekends down there! :D

cheers
Jack

Jack -- Nice pic!! Do you happen to have the owner's manaul? I'd sure love to find out how to adjust the anti-skating for the 272.

I have a Luxman PD-375 TT and I love it. I have a Grace F-9 cartridge on it; sounds awesome!

There should be a tilting lever with a sliding weight for adjustment just to the left of the tonearm bearing linked with monofilament.

Brian -- Yes, mine has that....but how is it adjusted? How do you calibrate it?

There are 6 indents in the bar. I don't have a manual either, but I believe that starting from the pivot, they represent .5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 grams. So a first pass adjustment would be to set the antiskating equal to the tracking force of the cartridge. Better yet, if you have a test record with a grooveless band, set it so the tonearm doesn't drift inward or outward on that band. Best would be to use a test record and fine tune by ear going for a balance in tracking ability between the left and right channels.

Hope this helps.

I'll check in the turntable forum.....sounds like you've got me pointed in the right direction....a test record!
