Hey all,

Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Sherif and I Live in Oak. Into all kinds of music but some of my favorite bands include:

Tinariwen, Souad Massi, Zero 7, Fela Kuti, Massive Attack, Tom Waits, Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen, Ilham Al Madfaai, Bob Dylan, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Yusef Lateef, Jimmy Reed, Madeleine Peyroux, Patricia Barber, Abdallah Ibrahim, JJ Cale, Otis Redding, Biosphere, Umm Kalthoum, Manu Chao, Ahmed Abu Malik, Bob Marley, Them, Dr. Octagon, NWA, Deus, Pink Anderson, Velvet Underground, Funk Inc, Simon Shaheen, Anouar Brahem, Rabih Abou Khalil, Fareed El Atrache, Ali Farke Toure, Sayed Mekawi, Abdel Halim Hafez, the Doors.

Sorry...cant stop a good list from developing. I have been buying records for 8 years or so now. Have ammased a decent collection and now its time to get into gear...so I am here.

Well, cant think of much else. Hope to be involved in this forum...

How-day secabol..

I used to be stationed at the long abandoned Naval Hospital up off of 580 and Mountain Blvd. Lots of good music originated from Oaktown. George Howard and Take 6 were some of my favorites.
