Hi,
I am Alex from Germany.
I came to this forum because I wanted to have more informations about some stereos and receiver I own. Some of these models were not available in Germany, so information is rare in german net.
I found this forum and it seems there are a lot of friendly people.
My main interest are mid- and late fifties tube radios and amps, and I restored some of them.
Seeing the stereos sold today I often have the feeling something went wrong in the last 30 years...
itīs raining outside, the sky is grey, my ī56 Loewe Opta Meteor is playing... the scale is shining, the magic eye is burning bright... waiting for my wife to come... nice moments of the day.
Hope she will cook for me, when she comes (grin)
Yours
Alex

Thanks at all!
A wonderful wellcome!
@Sandy: Nice collection! How did you get the radios?
But I wonder about the rhode &schwarz ... they are not known for building radios? (grin) Thatīs real a jewel. Never seen such a mechanical and electronical perfection. And the things are working after half a century.
@Jack Lord:
thanks for your wellcome in my language. I am living in Heringen. This is between Fulda and Eisenach.(Formally known as Fulda Gap.)
Frankfurt is near of us (150 km), Berlin is not so near (300 + km)
Yours

The EK-07 is a German Army shortwave receiver, made from 1958 thru '73. There were about 1000 of them made, they weigh 150 lbs-I dunno what that is in Kg, & sypposedly they cost the West German gov't $6000 at the time. There are only 2-3 dozen of them in the States, I'm VERY lucky to have one. For that kind of radio, they are about considered "Das Ultimat", I think that's how y'all would say it...(grin)

Wow! What a lot of friendly people! Thanks!
at Avionic: Bitte ein Bit, thatīs good! Grin!
at Sandy: Thanks for the explanation, I know R&S made high level non consumer electronics, thatīs why I asked.... I have two R&S transmitters, one is made in ī43, looks like stolen from a submarine, the second one is still working, tube-based, but not so nice.
at ToddG:
Really? Cool! Why didnīt we meet in Fulda? (grin)
My cousin bought a stereo from a GI in Fulda, back in the eighties. This thing was a killer in those days.
Thanks at all! I am very surprised and happy. This forum indeed is cool.
Gonna fill out my profile now.
