First off, since when are these "Rare", and when did they become worth $275 with rotten foams?

Boston craigslist has gone right down the tubes lately.... Has the price of crack dropped, or something? Seems to be a lot more people smoking it lately, then using craigslist! :scratch2:

And don't even get me started about the comparison to the NS-1000's... :screwy:

For those of you with strong stomachs, there are pics in the ad.

Different divers - the 1000's have Beryllium tweeters and midranges (the metal is hard to work with and toxic - not many pairs made). Also have 2 different woofers - you can tell by surround diameter (one is rubber one is Foam - rubber doesnt really degrade like that) and dust cap - maybe worth 50 bucks at most.

I think you are being far too kind in your assesment and valuations of these future pieces of landfill material.

$275.00.....

Wish into one hand, and sh*t into the other, and see which one fills up first :scratch2:

IMO NS-690's are very good speakers.

Even with mangled, mis-matched drivers? :scratch2:

Looks like they need an original woofer and refoaming. Not saying they're worth the asking price, but they're worth fixing.

And...... Something new about asking a ridiculous price for something. I thought this has been going on since the begining of time.

While I agree this pair is doomed, the 690 is a fine speaker. 90% of the sound for 25% of the price of the NS-1000. You can't go wrong.

It's funny how some "experts" put a price on something they've never heard. The speakers are probably worth it to someone who has listened to and enjoyed them. Plus, they're not spending YOUR money, are they?

Say what you like, a pair of these with rotting, mis-matched woofers, a pushed in mid (Look carefully!) and no pictures of the "Beautiful" cabinets, $275 is a crack-head price, no matter how nice they were when they were brand new. Keep slicing, it's still a Lemon.... :thumbsdn:

Maybe the price of crack is going UP and thats why they are asking so much.

The 690's are kick ass speakers though, when properly maintained and using correct parts.

I've never heard a pair, seeing how "Rare" they are... I am sure that they are very nice speakers, just not this pair, at that price.

Guess I'll have to go buy some crack, just for market research purposes only, of course! :smoke:
