Well I tried hooking this up this morning after being out of use for 3 Weeks, now only one channel is working. Now this unit worked fine for three months in the rotation. Now one dead channel. :sigh: Great. Didn't see any burnt fuses inside. And it was in a safe place. Great again.

I know this might be a usual reply but have you tried giving a cleaning with De-Oxit? I let my 9090 set for a while just as you did and while it functioned properly it had a bunch static in the controls that wasn't there before.
Just a thought. Good luck......................R1

No static. One dead channel. I had a sale on this arranged. I never have had this happen. I could see it if the unit had been sitting for a long time, but three weeks?

Give the front panel switches and pots a workout...very likely the missing channel will return.

Thanks for your response. I did this and nothing happened. I pushed and flipped every switch. Real bummer. Well the buyer stopped by, and was very cool, and was still interested if I can get it working. It's a nice unit, and I just have more than I need of this stuff.

Did you use the de-ox? I have a 890db that needs the same treatment. One channel is intermittent and I know it needs the de-ox treatment.

Just a hunch....Pull the preamp out/main in jumpers out on the back give them a cleaning and stick them back in and out a few times. you never know? Good Luck! Franksta
I know the problem all too well.
I have had more of the 8080 9090 series then most.
I Had simular troubles and what I did to cure it (temporarily) is turn it on...Get a source going...Put it on tape monitor and wick the volume way up quikly (back and forth).
Down then up. Once the channel comes in it usually stayes in as long as you use it regularly.
It seems to be a switching problem and most likely a transistor.
I would leave it on playing a source with the speakers cut out while you do yardwork or if your brave enough(and have insurance) while at work.
It may be that my problem was mild enough but Using it allways worked out the bug.
Good Luck.

My 890 did the same ,plus all of my backlighting did not work.So I took it to work cleaned it inside and out.Used Nitrogen to blow and dry things out then
De-Ox the hell out of it. After 24 hrs I turned it on an all is well.

I've had the same problem with my G-8000. If I go more than 5-6 days without playing it, one channel will be gone. Playing with the volume always brings it back and it works fine until the next time I let it sit for a while. I de-oxed the living heck out of the controls when it first happened and that did not resolve the problem.
