Seen a nice little console today, had 6V6GT and a couple others. Then I see a big tube separate from the amp, a GE5Y4G.

What's up with that 5Y4G tube?

5Y4 is a rectifier. Probably part of the HV DC power supply for the whole setup. Is it on a subchassis with a power transformer and a big can capacitor or two?
