Can anyone identify this capacitor? It is a Sprague part number UFT-1700-10.It indicates a value of 1700mfd @10volts.What I want to know is whether it is one capacitor with 2 leads out each end or is it 2 1700 mfd capacitors in parallel in one package?

:scratch2: Flux capacitor....:D

Looks like some kind of dual cap..As to value..My best guess is two individual 1700uf @ 10v...:scratch2:

Flux capacitor....

ooooh - I always wanted one of those - I'll buy it from you if you've also got a mr. fusion machine to go with it. I'll supply the DeLorean myself.

Maybe this test would work if you would use the ohm meter (make sure the cap is fully discharged) and measure the positive #1 and positive #2 and measure negative #1 and negative #2. If it reads zero ohms on both positives and negatives then it's only one cap but if it's zero ohms on positives OR negatives OR high or infinite ohm then it's dual cap. If I'm wrong, then I don't know what else to think.

I did check it and the positive leads are common as are the negative leads. So I think it is one capacitor, very strange. It is used in the power supply of my HP 5342 freq counter.

Do you have a LCR meter to measure the capacitance.

It is a cap for switching power supplies.
