I hope this doesn't count as a repost; it seems this item isn't 'vintage' enough for the vintage SS forum.

Anyway, I currently have one of the neat little pieces of equipment to interface with my stereo system for home theater use. It's very cool and sounds great.

I'm thinking of recording some of my vinyl, gradually, and I was wondering if I could send 24bit 48 or 96kHz sound to it over SPDIF, or if I should stick with 44.1/16bit. I can't seem to find any info on this unit anywhere on the tubenetz.

If you have the SH-AC500D processor, here it is on Panasonic's site: Technics SH-AC500D. (http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Audio/Technics-Audio-DJ/Technics-Amps/EQs/Processors/Decoders/model.SH-AC500D) Includes link to downloadable manual.

The manual didn't seem very clear in this regard.

Personally, I'd tend to stick with 44.1/16 because that's about as close to a universal standard as you'll get.
